Digital Physician

Digital Physician LLC was created in 2009 and is responsible for the design, programming, and maintenance of the Digital Physician EHR. Our company's mission is to help the busy practitioner benefit from integrating technology that is becoming essential for a medical practice to survive in the future. As a service provider, we will customize, set up and train on the use of the Digital Physician EHR in the physician’s office. Ongoing support and providing necessary updates to the software are also essential to this business. Dr. Cary Stewart is the founder of Digital Physician EHR and has been involved in Medical Informatics since 1993.

Our Team

Dr. Cary Stewart is the primary designer of Digital Physician EHR and spends most of his non-clinical time working on the Web 2.0 program code for Digital Physician EHR. In medical school he first organized and created a BBS, then set up an Internet email server, designed a website using MacHTTP (migrated to Apache HTTP Server on Unix), and before finishing medical school he sucessfully set up dialup remote access for students. During residency he started studying the EMR industry and created an online database in 1999 that compared the features of EMR products. In 2004, these evaluations took on a whole new meaning for Dr. Stewart. This time, the designer of Digital Physician was using his own product to find the right EHR for his primary care office (6 physicians and 15 staff). After many weary months of evaluating products, the final decision was to try and create our own EHR using existing software and tools. Dr. Stewart designed a custom EHR for his group that complemented their work flow and had all the necessary features. After 4 years of use, this custom EHR solution evolved into Digital Physician EHR.

Mark Miller is the lead programmer and has experience in developing Web 2.0 applications.
